A wheelbarrow overflowing with freshly watered flowers adds extra color to a bench outside a restaurant in Tannersville, New York. The tanning industry played an important role in the early history of the Mountain Top region of the Catskills -- hence the name of this village that stands between Hunter and Haines Falls. As part of its revitalization, home and store owners agreed to paint their buildings in bright colors, sometimes verging on psychedelic. This is one example.
