This is a close-up of part of the amazing root system supporting my favorite tree, which happens to be in the Catskills. It used to be on the shore of a lake. The tree is still there, but alas, the lake's shoreline has receded. I think I was channeling my favorite Hudson River School creators of tree sketches when I converted this image.
