Artist's Description
Portsmouth is the lively hub of New Hampshire's 18-mile seacoast. Located near the mouth of the Piscataqua River which separates it from Maine, the beautiful, vibrant city boasts a nearly 400-year-old history, museums, gardens, restaurants, beer (!), and three bridges that take traffic over the river to Kittery, Maine and points beyond. The World War I Memorial Bridge, shown in this picture, was dedicated in 2013; it replaced the original, which dated from 1923 and had been deemed beyond repair. The Memorial Bridge carries Route 1 over the Piscataqua River to Badger's Island in Kittery, Maine, and is the only one of the three bridges to allow pedestrian traffic.

As a trained historian, one of my great passions is to photograph old buildings. Whether abandoned ruins or...

Nice image Nancy, I intend to cross that bridge in a couple of weeks. Good framing and depth of field here. Nice job.
