Bastion Falls is located near one of the hairpin curves on Route 23a, which takes you from Palenville, at the bottom of the Hunter Mountain massive, to the top. If you're headed up the mountain toward Haines Falls and Tannersville, a glance at Bastion Falls on your right will give you a preview of what Kaaterskill Falls and the other mountain streams will look like, depending on the presence or absence of recent rain.
