An outstanding example of Romantic landscape design, Poets� Walk, north of Rhinecliff in Dutchess County, with its stunning scenic vistas will take you back to an era when such rural pastoral landscape was the rule rather than the exception. Poets� Walk Park was created in the 1840s as a series of outdoor �rooms� and derives its name from the many writers who enjoyed walking here. One of these writers was Washington Irving, and it is said that the view of the Catskills inspired him to write �Rip Van Winkle.�
