Description
Step back in time as you visit the Tiverton Four Corners Historic District in eastern Newport County, RI. This quaint New England village of historic, predominantly 18th- and early 19th-century buildings, located at the intersection of Routes 77 & 179 in Tiverton, offers shopping for antiques, art, and other goods as well as a variety of interesting restaurants. The Chace-Cory House, pictured here on its beautiful grounds, was built by either Benjamin or Abner Chase in the early 18th century. It was acquired in 1816 by Andrew Cory, a descendant of one of the 27 freemen listed as the original residents of Tiverton.
