Artist's Description

Phoenicia is a lively town in Ulster County in New York's Catskill Mountains. Named for the ancient Middle East city that was noted for its purple dye, Phoenicia hasthe Esopus Creek running through it; thus it is a mecca for the sport of tubing. They rallied, rebuilt the bridge, and the town is as thriving as ever. This image shows Main Street looking toward Mt. Tremper.
