A December picture showing the lateness of winter. This was made at Cooper Lake in New York's Catskill Mountains, Ulster County. The opposite side of Cooper Lake from where I walk is dominated by several mountains including Overlook Mountain, so called because it overlooks the famed town of Woodstock. The little building is the only manmade structure visible on that side. It can be a nuisance for purists seeking a "no hand of man" picture, but for me it fit the purposes of this image perfectly. The wind was so still, I was able to capture these reflections and zoom in to get the patterns made by the intersecting mountains.
